A collision between a tanker and cargo ship in the North Sea off the coast of Yorkshire, England, resulted in at least 32 injuries, fires, and a kerosene leak. The search for one missing crew member from the cargo ship, Solong, has been called off. The tanker, Stena-Immaculate, was carrying kerosene and was temporarily chartered by the U.S. Military Sealift Command. The cargo ship was carrying an undetermined quantity of alcohol and fifteen containers of sodium cyanide. An environmental group expressed concern about multiple toxic risks.
